• Back in the late 1800's and early 1900’s the Sideshow was considered family entertainment and is a part of American History. In 1884, Joseph Carey Merrick contacted a showman named Sam Torr and proposed that Torr exhibit him, making Merrick one of the most famous side show attractions in history.
• This mask was sculpted by Scott Stoddard, who spent an incredible amount of time, care and effort researching every detail of Merrick’s skeleton to create a depiction of what he looked like back in 1884.
